G. Charles Dix II
President
G. Charles Dix II (Chuck) is the President of Dix 1898. Prior to being named President of Dix 1898, Mr. Dix was President of the Dix Radio Division, served as publisher of The Alliance Review, and served on the board for the Inland Press Association. Mr. Dix is the past president of the national publishing co-op (PAGE) and Alliance Area Development Board. Mr. Dix served as the chairman of the Stark Community Foundation, and continues serving on its board.
Andrew S. Dix
Vice President
Andrew S. Dix was the publisher of The Daily Record, Times-Gazette and Daily Jeffersonian. Prior to joining The Daily Record, Times-Gazette and Daily Jeffersonian, he was the Advertising Director for The Alliance Review from 1998 to 2006. Mr. Dix was a past board member of the Inland Press Foundation. Mr. Dix serves on the board of the Main Street Wooster Inc., MedBen, the Wayne Economic Development Council, and is a member of YPO, a network of chief executives.
Ann Dix Maenza
Board Member
Ann Dix Maenza is the past publisher of The State Journal. Prior to joining The State Journal, she practiced law in Cincinnati, Ohio, and then worked for WRAD Broadcasting in Radford, Virginia. Ms. Maenza is the lead human resource executive for Dix 1898.
David E. Dix
Board Member
David E. Dix was the publisher of Record Publishing Company, a position he held since 1974. Mr. Dix serves on the board of Robinson Memorial Hospital, Portage County Port Authority, and is a member of Kent Rotary. Mr. Dix is a former president of the Ohio Newspaper Association Board of Trustees, Kent State University, Kent Area Chamber of Commerce and is a former director of the Ravenna Area Chamber of Commerce.
Robert C. Dix, Jr.
Board Member
Robert C. Dix, Jr. is a retired publisher of The Daily Jeffersonian. Prior to being publisher at The Daily Jeffersonian, Mr. Dix was publisher of The Alliance Review, the former Martins Ferry—Bellaire Times—Leader worked in various capacities at other Dix newspapers and was chairman of the group’s former television division, and has served as president of Dix Communications. Mr. Dix retired as a board member of the Lewiston-Auburn, Maine, Sun Journal newspapers.
William J. Etchell
Board Member
William J. Etchell is a former partner with Meaden & Moore, a large regional accounting and financial services firm based in Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Etchell has served as an advisor to Dix 1898 since 2002. Mr. Etchell has more than 40 years of experience dealing with the challenges and opportunities encountered by successful family businesses.
John Beringer
Board Member
John Beringer is co-CEO and co-owner of Durrel Corporation (aka Durrel Partners) and its affiliated operating companies. The primary focus of Durrel has been to purchase and revitalize underperforming metal products companies. Durrel operating units have produced forgings, stampings, fabrications, machined components and various other metal parts.
